WHAT IS THE CLAREMONT PTA LISTSERV?
The Claremont Listserv an online venue/electronic mailing list via Yahoo Groups in which listserv members (Claremont Immersion School parents/caregivers, family members, teachers and staff) post and receive information about issues that relate primarily to Claremont Immersion School (CIS) and its community.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO JOIN THE LISTSERV?
The Listserv is free-of-charge.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BECOME A LISTSERV MEMBER?
A valid email address, such as a yahoo, Hotmail, gmail. etc.
DO I HAVE TO BE A PTA MEMBER IN ORDER TO JOIN THE LISTSERV?
No. The listserv is open to all who are interested in joining. If you are interested in becoming a PTA member you can join online HERE.
WHAT TYPES OF INFO IS POSTED ON THE LISTSERV?
The Listserv is used by the Claremont Immersion School Community to post a variety of issues. Please read the guidelines for the use of the claremont-pta listserv.:
- school news/alerts from Claremont Immersion School and/or Arlington Public Schools (APS)
- inquiries/reminders about school schedule (closings, upcoming programs, test dates, etc.)
- reminders/fyi about current and upcoming PTA events
- suggestions/fyi for family activities
- search/inquiries re select services (tutor, nanny, babysitter, after school clubs, etc.)
- post interesting parent and/or education-related news or articles
HOW WILL I RECEIVE LISTSERV MESSAGES/POSTINGS?
Messages/postings that you receive from the listserv will be sent via email to your designated email account. Each message will have “[claremont-pta]”before the email subject.
HOW DO I BECOME A LISTSERV MEMBER/SUBSCRIBE TO THE LISTSERV?
Send an email message to firstname.lastname@example.org with a note stating that you would like to join the listserv and why (i.e. I have children who attend Claremont, etc.).
WHEN DO I OFFICIALLY BECOME A LISTSERV MEMBER?
The Listserve Moderator has to approve your request. Approvals are normally processed within 24 hours of the request. You will then be notified via email that your request has been approved. Once your request has been approved you will immediately start receiving listserv messages/postings via email. Upon approval you will also be able to post messages and edit your account to your desired specifications (i.e. change how/when you receive listserve postings/emails, update your profile, etc.).
